Synopsis
MATERIAL LENGTH: 10 Self-assessment case studies
AMA CAT. 1 CME: 5.0
Target Audience/Needs
This DVD is designed for the medical professional with a minimum of six
months experience performing and/or interpreting cardiac ultrasound
examinations.
About the DVD
The DVD features 10 assorted case studies beginning with the patient
clinical history. The participant will review each case through different
examination views and document the findings on an interpretation worksheet
(included as a printable .pdf document on the DVD). At the completion of
each case study, a summary of the actual case findings is provided, along
with a brief overview of specific cardiac pathology as a reference.
The DVD series is an ideal source for enhancing interpretation skills and to
improve recognition of cardiac disease. It is also an excellent registry
preparation resource and compliments the P.A.S.S. Registry Review Package.
Objectives
After viewing this video presentation, the participant should be able to:
1. State the various left ventricular wall segments and explain the
distribution of coronary artery flow.
2. Identify and classify wall motion abnormalities.
3. Recognize echocardiography characteristics of complications associated
with coronary artery disease.
4. Correlate the clinical history with cardiac ultrasound findings.
5. Identify areas of weakness (concommitant pathology) that may require
further study.
The Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing
medical education for physicians. The Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute
designates the described educational activities for up to the indicated
