While researching and writing this book, my goal was to reach every level of Cardiac Sonographer, to include:
The student who requires clear and concise information while being introduced to the field of echocardiography.
The Cardiac Sonographer who needs study materials for the registry(s).
The Registered Cardiac Sonographer who needs a resource while working in the echocardiography laboratory.
The Educator who needs a reliable resource and teaching aid while working with students. The books are currently being utilized by a number of programs, educators, and students across the country.
WHAT MAKES ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY…From a Sonographer’s Perspective UNIQUE?
I wanted to create a book that was affordable, useful, and comprehendible by all. I utilized an outline format with definitions and examples included throughout the material. This creates material that is user friendly and organized for easier reading. A great deal of the text and illustrations are presented as if I am in the clinical setting with the reader discussing the material. The book is designed to provide the reader with a resource to take to the lab while observing echocardiograms and practicing their clinical skills.
Each chapter includes:
Clearly stated objectives.
An outline of the material.
Labeled, hand-designed diagrams (with the computer program Paintbrush)
Real echocardiography images/examples to include
Normal standard transthoracic views, M-mode tracings, color flow Doppler, and spectral waveform Doppler.
Abnormal examples of many of the disease states discussed in the book.
