Synopsis
Following on from the success of the first edition and building on its strengths, accounting for its weaknesses, the editors and international team of well-known contributors offer the reader the most practical textbook for diagnosing, treating and managing endovascular diseases. Like the first edition, the second discusses therapies that can make a real difference in the lives of patients. Therapies for critical limb ischemia (2 million patients in US and Europe, with half requiring amputation), chronic total occlusions, as well as therapies that in some subsets have been demonstrated more effective than the invasive surgical procedures that are discussed. With patients demanding less invasive procedures and as the population ages, there is a real demand for quality of life, thus increasing the need for excellent, beneficial interventions of the peripheral vasculature. With a totally restructured table of conten ts, additional chapters on pathophysiology and radiology for each anatomical region, the reader will find the second edition totally accessible and easily digestible.
